Spent the last two days with the cutest elderly couple you could ever imagine. Mary and Gerry of Sligo, who are friends of my mom's co-worker, were so sweet to put me up for two nights and drive me around to the sites of the surrounding area of Sligo. We went to the beautiful waterfall Glencar, saw the metalman lighthouse in Rosses Point, visited Yeats' grave, drove up to Donburen and saw more beautiful coastlines.
It has been a dream here and the weather has been so lovely. On my buses up to Enniskillen (en route to Omagh) I couldn't believe the mountainous sights. Fabulously breathtaking. Enniskillen is a mini island because it sits between two rivers. There is a castle and the best serviced sandwich shop, Jolly Sandwich. Omagh, the little I saw from the busride in, is fairly large for a town, and has enough pubs to suit an Irishman. The house here, just outside of Omagh, is ecofriendly and interesting. I sleep in the attic and am welcome to any food in the kitchen. Marella and Billy (farm= pigs, fowl, polytunnel) have two kids home, who may or may not be nice company. Don't want to run up their broadband bill, more to come!
